April 2025 sees the start of a new business accounting year for Traineasy, and that includes – for the second time only – recording our greenhouse gas emissions so that we can come eyeball-to-eyeball with our carbon footprint, take stock and make an actionable plan to reduce it to an absolute minimum. 🌿
Last year: Air conditioning units. This year: Different office – no air conditioning units.
Last year: Director commuting by petrol car. This year: Director commuting by EV.
It really is an empowering thing to do, and anyone with the slightest interest in stopping climate change will thoroughly enjoy seeing that harmful footprint shrink, as they mindfully take action to make those changes that will make the biggest differences. 🌿
We were so fortunate as an SME without a grand budget for consultants, to have had the knowledge and tools at our disposal to enable us to make the biggest step of all, and actually start this deliberate journey towards becoming a net zero organisation. We recognise just how difficult it might seem to other organisations to know where to start without spending a lot of money, especially when there isn’t any sustainability expertise within the team. 🌿
This is why we have developed our Net Zero Starter Kits (also known as Net Zero Toolkits – we couldn’t quite decide on the best name for them, so we’re using both!) to help other businesses by sharing our knowledge and experience in the form of a kit comprising:

1 x Staff access to a sustainability training portal for short e-learning modules on ESG, sustainability and the circular economy

Inexpensive and easy, and we hope a brilliant way to help organisations who have not yet started, or support those who feel they’re not making much progress to accelerate, or give a less expensive option for those currently paying thousands a year to consultants. 🌿
The journey is most definitely on – not just for us, but hopefully for lots more SMEs who would like to reduce their carbon footprint, and now they can have the tools to do just that, for very little expenditure. 🌿
